Due to recent circumstances, we hope this won't impact Mother’s Day too much coming up on the 10th of May in Australia.
For those who don’t live with their parents, this means that you won’t be able to see them in person. That doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate, though, you just have to be a little more creative!
And if you feel like being extra kind - it's always nice to remember to celebrate with your grandma, mother-in-law, or partner who's expecting.

4 Ways to Celebrate Mother's Day 2020
Just because you have to stay home doesn't mean that you shouldn't show your mum some love! Here are a few things that you can do.
1. Find Her a Gift
Spoil mum with some gifts. With some extra time that you may be spending at home, surely you'll find some inspiration for something that she'll love? If not, we're here to help!
Have a good think about what your mum loves, whether it's hiking, cooking, arts and crafts - you get the idea! With this knowledge at your fingertips you can find a gift based around her interests.
Alternatively, you could make your mum something personal and sentimental, such as a photo book, a personalised card made by you, or even cook a meal for her.
If you're still finding yourself stuck. Luckily there's plenty of other gifts that are a surefire way to make her feel spoilt. Help her unwind with some candles, add some meaningful jewellery to her collection, or help her redecorate with some wall art!
2. Video Call Her
Consider giving your mum a video call. Not only will you guys be able to chat, but you can even watch her open her gifts—live! That way, you can still see the smile on her face. And that all your effort was worth it!
There are many apps and software that you can use to do this!
3. Watch a Movie Together
Who says that you have to be in the same room to watch a movie together? With Netflix Party (which is completely free), all you need is the internet! What's more, is that you can watch and chat at the same time.
So pick a movie that your mum would love and watch it with her. The only thing is that she’ll need a Netflix subscription too (psst, you can always gift that to her if she doesn't have one yet).
4. Write Her a Letter
Consider writing a beautiful letter to your mum. No, not in a text or an email—but with paper and pen. If anything, it’s much more personalised - you could even use a card too!
It’s affordable as well since all you need is a stamp! Remember, letters also double as keepsakes so she can keep it forever.
If you want, you can even include a gift with the letter!
Celebrating Mother's Day
As you can see, there are still ways to celebrate Mother's Day 2020 during these crazy times. Why let it get in the way of such a meaningful day, right?
