Short Story candles are lovingly handcrafted and infused with the finest aromas. To ensure that you’ll get the most out of them, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Before you light your candle for the first time:

1. Unbox your candle and place it on a flat surface away from any draughty areas.

2. Trim the wick to less than 0.5cm.

3. Light your candle and let it burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the glass or safety barrier.

4. Relax and enjoy your gorgeous new scents!

Doing this for your first burn prevents tunnelling and keeps you safe, all while maximising your scent throw and ensuring that your candle lasts as long as possible. After this, continue enjoying these benefits by:

1. Remembering to trim your wick to less than 0.5cm before every burn.

2. Limiting your burn time to three hours to prevent overheating.

3. Saying goodbye when your candle reaches the last 1cm of wax (then restock your favourite fragrances by clicking here)!

Shocking outcome..

I bought this candle through David Jones and I absolutely loved this candle..however today I had lit my candle and out of nowhere some time later it literally burst and shattered while still on fire…I did not expect this and never had a candle shatter like this before. Maybe the glass had a problem with the heat…I really enjoy these candles, so I’d most likely buy again- however am worried about it shattering and damaging the things around it again (I.e carpet and wood). Candle still had a sufficient amount of wax remaining in it before it was lit today.
