THE STORY OF PIZZA
The origins of the first pizza are cloudy with stories dating back to Ancient Greece, China, Middle East and the Mediterranean.
However the modern pizza can be associated with the Nepolitan pizzamaker, Raffaele Esposito. On the 11th June 1889, Raffaele created the Pizza Margherita to honour the Queen consort of Italy, Margherita of Savoy by making a pizza garnished with tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, to represent the national colours of the Italian flag.
Yummmm.
